Massage, bodywork, and somatic therapies offer profound short- and long-term benefits by easing tension, reducing stress, and relieving pain. By partnering with an experienced and insightful therapist, you may aid your body in recovery from an injury or establish a new baseline of grace and ease in your life.

At Untamed Alchemy, we'll co-create your experience to craft a massage experience that uniquely addresses your concerns, considers your constraints, and empowers your desired outcomes.

Based on your wishes and feedback, I may employ a variety of techniques designed to encourage your body toward rest, ease, wholeness, healing, or peak performance. You can learn more about the unique trainings I have undertaken and the individual techniques I employ below.

PRIMARY TECHNIQUES at UNTAMED ALCHEMY

SWEDISH MASSAGE

Swedish massage relaxes muscles, eases aches, and gently encourages the body's coming into balance. Strokes are typically long and smooth and  with mostly gentle or even pressure.

Swedish massage is considered the most common and basic form of massage; it's ideal for clients who want to completely relax on the table and enjoy their experience without much fuss or feedback.

Because it is gentle, relaxing, and rejuvenating without focus on reconciling pain or causing even temporary discomfort, Swedish massage is wonderful for those new to massage or healing touch.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Myofascial release involves the application of gentle, sustained pressure and controlled stretching of myofascial tissue to release muscles and joints from attachments, restore mobility, and reduce pain.

Myofascial release may help to restore a sense of flow through and connection across the body; I've had particular success helping clients who spend their days at a their desks regain a "whole body" feeling through massage that incorporates myofascial release.

DEEP TISSUE

As its name suggests, deep tissue massage puts the focus on deeper muscles and fascia to directly address temporary soreness, chronic pain, injury/recovery, or mobility challenges. Deep tissue massage uses slower strokes and precise, deep pressure to relieve stiffness, tightness, and pain, reduce/retrain scar tissue, increase range of motion, and restore healthy connection between tissues, muscles, and bones.

Deep tissue work involves active communication between client and therapist to ensure that it is both safe and effective.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Trigger point therapy engages specific points on the body to facilitate release and reduce pain in another associated part of the body. Trigger point therapy is thought to interrupt pain signals and reset/restore healthy communication between the trigger point and its associated part.

Trigger point therapy is especially effective in addressing chronic pain and stiffness in joints and muscles that are unresponsive to hot/cold therapies.
