Kristina Bauer has engaged herbs, oils, aromatics, crafts, and creation with curiosity, wonder, and a maker's spirit throughout her life. She identifies first and foremost as an alchemist, namely someone who intentionally facilitates transformation, but she is more easily recognized as the grower, distiller, formulator, and facilitator behind Untamed Alchemy's natural skincare products, herbal/aromatic formulations, gardens, and workshops. As a writer, creatrix, and community member, she has been known The Untamed Alchemist® since 2012.

 

Since her first explorations into aromatherapy, herbalism, and Mother Earth chemistry almost 30 years ago, Kristina has deepened and broadened her education and experience. Her Bachelor's degree in women's studies & religion focused on liberation theology, our sacred relationship with nature, Mother Earth chemistry, and empowering women through knowledge, ceremony, symbology, and divination.

 

Her passion for archetypes and narrative, her knowledge of cosmologies and sacred symbology, and her desire for meaningful connection heavily inform her work as a teacher, trainer, and facilitator today.

 

She has studied with a variety of celebrated experts across a broad spectrum of fields and disciplines and gained experience exploring her own relationships with plants, growing, and blending to inform an approach that is wild and wise, natural and intentional, pure and simple®.

After shifting her focus to growing Untamed Alchemy in 2012 and moving to her Idaho farm in 2014, Kristina has continued to deepen her work, focusing on her work as a distiller and natural skincare formulator, expanding her product line as she perfects new formulas featuring her favorite plants, herbs, flowers, and aromatics.

All told, Kristina has delighted in engaging the art & science of essential oils, herbs, aromatics, Nature, and the senses in making, crafting, and creating for over 25 years.

In the premium products she shares under the brand name Untamed Alchemy® featuring her own farm-sourced botanicals and aromatics, the workshop and distillation experiences she facilitates on her farm, and the articles, designs, graphics, and media she creates as The Untamed Alchemist, Kristina's work reflects the breadth and depth of her unique education, experience, passion, perspective, and purpose.
