Autumn Alchemical Distillation Journey

Registration is now closed and our ceremony is set; we'll be distilling rose petals, myrrh resin, calendula flowers, red wine, and apple and pomegranate fruit. 

Autumn will soon reach for her colorful cloak—what state of change are you in at this turn? How might contemplative consideration of your current stage inform your now and inspire your tomorrow?

Join Kristina, the Untamed Alchemist, on the Autumn Equinox for an afternoon distilling an autumn hydrosol/essential oil in ceremony while you explore the significance/symbology of the season, the archetypes of the seven stages of alchemy, and the process of distillation.

In the Autumn Alchemical Distillation, you'll explore distillation as metaphor with an eye to determining which alchemical stage you're navigating in your own life as autumn reaches for her cloak. You'll meet key herbs, aromatics, foods, symbols, and archetypes relevant to the season's turn, enjoy a special seasonal snack and beverages, and learn about some of the myths and lore that inform them.

Distillation journeys feature casual lecture, thoughtful engagement, contemplative reflection, lots of room for questions, and time for quiet contemplation. The day may include unique activities such as meditation, journaling, drumming, crafting, and journaling to help you connect with the energy of you in the moment, in your season, in your stage. Importantly, every journey includes time for you to reflect, reconnect, remember, and reset. We'll share food, drink, stories, activities, and gifts, but your experience of the day will reflect your unique relationship to this turn of the wheel.

Though our time is scheduled to end at 7 PM, the evening may organically run long as distillations (and people) take the time they take. Conditions permitting, we may also include a fire circle to close the day. I encourage you to protect your time immediately after the workshop so you can be nimble in meeting your own needs at the end of the day.

This in-person workshop will take place outdoors in the medicine garden or distillation temple (depending upon the weather) and studio at our home, Five Element Farm, in Sagle, Idaho. Please note that restroom facilities are limited to a port-a-potty.
